The finished side will absorb less moisture than the rough, unsealed side. This will cause the backside to expand more than the front and causes warping. Before any sheet paneling is installed in a LQ, the rough side should be treated with a coat of paint, varnish or almost any type of finish, to seal the rougher, bare wood. |
