Location: illinois | Wondering if this would be a good trade? 1997 2 horse Elite with mangers, hay rack,AC.5 1/2 foot shortwall. We currently have a 2003 3 horse Exiss Event 4 ft. shortwall. Just wondering about the age difference?? The 2 horse works for us, but I really wanted a larger camping area. Would the difference between the Elites 5 1/2ft be noticeable? I know Elite is a better trailer but then again the age? |

Location: western PA | You have to decide if an unknown trailer, with a 1 1/2' longer dressing room, a thirteen year old AC unit and a hay rack is worth giving up what you now own. The Elite is a very good brand. But because it is older, its condition may or may not, make it worth the swap. If the Elite was well maintained, it will be quite valuable. You should perform the usual inspections whenever you purchase a trailer; doors, latches and everything that moves. You should look underneath at the under carriage, pull the mats and inspect the flooring. Tires, bearings and brakes, if they haven't been attended to, will have to be replaced. They could add up to ~$1000 +. If you haven't yet replaced the tires on the Exiss, it will soon have to happen. This will cost ~$600, so you will probably have that expense regardless of which trailer you choose. Trading your Exiss on a new trailer, similarly equipped to this Elite, will cost considerably more than a $1000 upgrade. Only you can decide what your priorities involve. Gard
