| Hi! I am looking to purchase a 2000 model Sundowner Trailblazer II 3 horse slant trailer with 8ft. lq. It is in great shape for the age, and I have negotiated a price of $14,000. My questions are; what are your thoughts on Sundowner trailers, and is there anything specifically that I should be concerned with? One of my best friends had one, and she was really pleased, she only traded up for bigger living quarters, and she still wishes at times she would have kept the Sundowner. Location: Rocky Mount N.C. | I believe that trailer may have a "steel frame"... If so, be sure to inspect the underside for any corrosion or blistering of the paint, "Suncoat", etc. Where has the trailer spent most of it's life? Texas, Az. Ca. Mi. Wi.....? | Kathleen, The price sounds great if the floorplan suits you. But as was stated, this is a prime candidate for the frame rot that some Sundowners show. Look underneath, if you see it, you'll know it.

| Thanks for the info- I will look under the trailer- I did not check that, mainly because I can't physically get down on the ground like that at this time (on crutches- knee surgery 11/20!); I have already made the deal with the owner and am in the process of getting financing right now- should pick up on Friday evening. This is the trailer that is on HTW from Edna, Texas. The outside is in almost perfect condition, along with the inside of the LQ and horse area. It has been taken very good care of- oh well, I just pray I've made a good purchase! Thanks for the input everybody! Kathleen |

Location: Aiken, SC | If you do see anything of concern you can contact Sundowner Trailers Warranty Dept to see if the trailer is still under warranty. The structural warranty is 8 years from the original purchase date. There is a possiblity the trailer was a "left over" and is still under the 8 year structural warranty. |

| I wish you well in your knee surgery recovery, Ann is now 7 weeks along the healing path from her's.
SOMEHOWwwwww I would find a way to look under there, whether by a mirror duct taped to the end of a crutch, or paying a young 'un $20 to squirm under there with a camcorder (-:
8 year warranty notwithstanding, they have been VERY BAD with respect to honoring claims against that warranty.
Not wanting to bash them myself, but PLEASE do a search of THIS FORUM for some of the horror stories first hand.

Location: cedar rapids iowa | I think this is one with the aluminum frame because it has 1 caution stripe not 2 but I could have it backwards. It looks like you got a good buy regardless but it looks smaller than an 8 ft living qtr by the floorplan and just the look of it from the exterior. My 8' has a lot more amenities and larger things in it. ????? |

Location: Ohio | I had the exact same trailer...year make model etc. We really liked the trailer, but I will say that part of the reason we traded to the current all aluminum one is because the frame was starting to rust pretty bad. I am sure it could have been painted or otherwise corrected, etc. but we also wanted something slightly bigger so we just traded it in. $14,000 sounds like a great price for the trailer based on what I paid for mine used in 2001 and based on what I got out of it when I traded in 2005. |

Location: rapid city sd | you don't have to get down on your knees. In the last 6 of the vin number if is not LA or AA and 4 numbers its not aluminum frame |
