I have a 89 featherlight gooseneck and the jack is broke, is harder than heck and wont crank all the way up. What type would you replace it with?
And what should I pay for labor and parts (ballpark figure)

I would replace it with a bulldog 12k jack I think the jack is about $140  http://www.southwestwheel.com/store/p-603-h0182415.aspx

Install is gonna vary depending on if yours is bolted on or welded.  If its bolted i can not imagine much more than $100 for install.  If its welded I would bet on atleast twice that.

I had to do the same thing so I added an electric motor drive kit at the same time. Old, tired arms don't appreciate the hand crank! My wife found the kit for me at this place. http://www.towshop.com
