I use my trailer a couple times a week and when parked at home I plug into the barn and run a small heater in the LQ and leave the trailer hooked to the truck. Someone told me that I should unplug the trailer from the truck when I do that. Is that true?

Most trucks are set up so that the ignition has to be on, or the engine is physically running, to get the hot lead power from the truck to the trailer. This prevents an inadvertent discharge of the trucks' batteries. If every thing works as it should, you probably won't have any adverse happenings by leaving things connected. We routinely leave ours connected between weekends, when we have back to back shows.
