Had a friend recently ask me if I knew of anyone that would clean her tack for her cause she really doesn't have the patience to sit down and do it...I mentioned someone that used to do it and didn't know if she did it any more....That got me to thinking that I could do it cuz I have time and don't mind doing it...I also could use the extra cash since I am laid-off from my job since June 1st....But I don't know what to charge her...I don't know how much she has that she wants cleaned and I don't want to charge too much cuz she is a friend but I want to be fair too...I don't mind doing it cuz I just put an old sheet or blanket down on the floor, put my saddle rack with wheels on it and do it in front of the tv on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon when the weather is bad...So how much would you charge to clean tack for someone so that maybe she will spread the word around and I could possible get more to do???

There is a shoeshine stand that sets up at Paint Horse Congress and I believe he charges $15 for an English saddle and $25. for a western, but that is leather only, no silver. A saddle company I know of in OK charges $45. Kind of depends on your area, but that gives you a range to work with anyway.

I'm like you... I love to clean my stuff.. I love the smell of the soap and the leather.. I'll sit down in front of the TV in the evening and just get after it... When I was off for a couple of weeks before and after my knee surgery this spring, I got stir crazy and went thru everything leather I owned, soaping all and oiling some.. Then called a couple of friends and told them to bring their stuff over for me to do too..
