Before I spend time trying to invent a new deterrent, does anyone have a practical method of keeping the dirt dobbers from nesting in their trailer's AC fan?

Periodically run the A/C as Rentento suggests. However, living in the capital of bugland, dirt dobbers included,I've learned that they can build one heck of a mud pile in 24 hours.YOu might invest in an A/C cover. We keep a large lawn/leaf bag over ours during storage.

Don't forget that they can do a real number on your hot water heater,so put a sceen on the inside of the vent cover.Else you may smell gas,and come out to find a huge black soot streak as a new decal up the side of your trailer as we on a trip once.

Those little mud dobbers are a big pain. I had used my LQ trailer all summer long and still got those pesky mud nests. When we went to 4-J in Sept. the trailer vibrated like a cheap motel bed even though I had run the air and fan the prior weekend! Hubby had to take the shroud off and break off those hard mud clods. Luckily that did the job cause the noise and vibration was driving me and my little dog crazy.

They also get into the propane heat unit and air ducts.
