Location: NE PA | Hello,
I'm new to the forum and am looking at buying a 1991 Sundowner 4 Horse trailer. It is a steel trailer, and has quite a bit of rust. I am getting it for $600 though. Is it worth it and how hard will it be to fix it up? The floor has already been redone. I'll try to attach pictures. We also have a 2007 Dodge Cummins Diesel 3500 dually to pull it, so I don't think the weight of it will be a factor. I have been told the ramp could be taken off to lighten it some. Any input would be appreciated.

Location: western PA | Depending on the model and year, SD had significant problems with frame rusting issues. This was not a case of surface rust, but enough frame degration to cause loss of integrity. If the frame is badly rusted, you may want to avoid the purchase. |

| Man what will you be pulling that with? In the first photo,that thing looks as long as a Greyhound bus.If there is no frame rust,that's a good deal,and that's one hunk of a trailer!!! |

In my opinion. You have plenty of truck to haul it with. The ramp is only going to save a few hundred pounds at the most, so usless it is rusted I would leave it. A few hundred pounds on a larger trailer is not that noticeable like it woud be on a small trailer. |
