I sent to horselicks.com browsing and came across a "too good to be true" deal--and of course it was just that.  A 6H featherlite 2005 for $3,900.  It said send Moneygram yada yada.  It had the same pix of service men posted on a scam wqarning on this site.  Thanks for posting I didn't become another scam victim thanks to your posting.  I would forward the commumication from, "Major Ryan Federson USASOLS" but I don't know how to mechanically accomplish that.  Anyways, thanks podnah!

OOohh, I'm in Dallas.... maybe I should go check it out?  But wait!  What phone number is THAT?!  Well, when I look it up it says that's a Phillipines phone number.

Oh, and I see that this person has posted on Barrel Horse World, too.  Well, let's just email this bub!

We also almost got scammed by Maj. Ryan Federson, US Army. My husband found an ad on Horse World.com Thought it sounded like a really good deal, so sent an e-mail for additional information. The name listed on the ad was Kurt Niebres but when we received the return e-mail with all the info stating the trailer was in the UK, the e-mailer was Maj. Ryan Federson. He stated that E-Bay was handling the sale as he was in Iraq, and that they would send an invoice with details on how to make a refundable payment. We would have 5 days from receipt of trailer to inspect it, and then if we didn't want to keep it, E-Bay would refund the money. At this time, no deposit has been asked for, but won't be surprised if that request isn't coming.
I did send him our shipping info so may here back. I'm sure he thinks he has a "live one" on the hook.
Thanks for the scam notices which only verified the nagging suspicion we had that this deal was just too good to be true!!!

Le me try to help folks out............

There is NO SUCH THING as a full blown LQ for $2,900. If you get scammed trying to buy a $30,000 trailer for $3,000 then "you" are the dummy not the guy that was going to sell it to you.

Greed is a powerful thing when somewhat normal people believe they can buy trailers for 10% of a trailers value.

This is not a problem with scammers, it's a problem with buyers.

I just laugh when I read this stuff.

LOL!  This was the reply that I got:

Hello,

This horsetrailer (Sundowner 8012 Sierra 4H Gooseneck), runs excellent. Its unbelievably clean and excellent condition. The price that I hope to obtain is $ 2800 with shipping and handling included.  I am selling the horsetrailer because my platoon has been sent back to Iraq and I have no use for it anymore plus I want to buy another horsetrailer in several months. The price is low because I need to sell it before Sept. 15th.
You will not have any problems with registration since the horsetrailer is still registered in US. This horsetrailer meets all environmental regulations in the US, there is no need to pay any additional taxes, just only the price for it. You will get from me the manuals, keys along with all the additional documents needed for registration.
I want to take the opportunity to assure you that this deal is 100% legitimate, the financial part of this deal will be managed by the eBay's buyer protection program (They are acting like a third party in our deal). Which means that you will have a 15 days inspection period before buying the horsetrailer .
If you want to complete the purchase please send me your, Full Name and Shipping Address and I will notify ebay that you are selected as my buyer and they will contact you to explain the entire procedure.
Please email me soon if you want to move forward and let me know if you need anything else.

Good to know that it "runs excellent".  And he plans to sell it "because I have no use for it PLUS I want to buy another one in several months"  !!!!!  Well heck, why sell this one if you still need one !?  And it meets all environmental regulations!!  Darn, now our trailers have to meet enviro regs!!!  I guess his trailer is GREEN !
