| I am looking to buy a porta potty. I would like to know which one is the best. I have done some research and found the Coleman had some bad reviews regarding leaking. Also, which is better the Bellow pump or the plunger type water pump? |

Location: East Tennessee, USA, Planet Earth | Get the best one you can afford, get a Thetford. Make sure it's a tall one, easier to sit one and get one with the largest tank you can afford and have space for.
I used a porta potti for many ...many years. Kept it in the front stall of my trailer. |

Location: Tennessee | I also have a Thetford. No battery, just manual operation. It is the BEST piece of equipment I've ever had in my trailers. It has moved from my 2H bumper pull to my gooseneck with homemade weekender to my current Kiefer Evolution. Last camping trip I stayed at a place that did not have a dump station so I just put my porta-potty in the bathroom next to the regular potty and used it instead. I started riding and camping with my girls when they were 4 & 9. You can imagine the convenience. Sometimes we'll pull off on an interstate exit, hop in the back, do our business then back on the road! |

Location: central sierra nevada foothills | I got me the Luggable Loo last season, it's just a 5 gal. bucket with a toilet seat, you stick in a liner and pour your liquid stuff to break down your yuckies with. I love it, it doesn't smell, and I just dig a deep hole when I'm done camping and dump my bio degradable yukies in the hole, cover and trash the plastic liner in my trash bag and take home with the rest of my trash. Never had an issues with smells, it's fairly cheap, at any online camping supply and it also sure beats using the camping outhouse when they have them available. |

Location: Southern New Mexico | I also have a Thetford. I have the short one they sell at Walmart but I'm going to build a frame to put it on to add height and storage. It's one of the best acessories I've bought for my trailer. The girls never have to go when we stop for fuel....... You can dump it in any bathroom/rest area. |

| Someone on this site posted a recommendation for a PETT toilet, so I bought one and absolutely love it. It is similar to the luggable loo type arrangement, but it folds up for storage and is more like a conventional toilet. My family makes fun of me because I'm such a priss when it comes to camping yet I like my PETT. Nothing to clean, rinse, dump, flush, etc. The "wag bags" are easy to use and so big that you never even come close to anything yucky. I set mine up in the back of the trailer. Rei carries them and I think also Bass Pro or maybe Cabelas. I bought mine online from Rei. If the person who originally recommended it is reading this -- thank you! |
