| I have the electronic brake, from my old truck. However the convertor stayed attached to the bumper of the truck when it was traded. My question : should I hard wire the new 7 pin connector or can I purchase the kind that plugs into the 4 pin (with hardwire ground and battery) to be able to use the 4 pin if I ever need it. I've only have just started seeing the 9 into 4 convertors like the one at the bottom of the link i've attached http://www.go-rv.com/coast/do/catalog/page?pagePrev=TRUE&dealerId=320&pageNum=506 What I'll be towing - motorcycles, horses either way i'll be in the gross towing weight of an expedition |

Location: North Carolina | As I understand your post , your vehicle has a 4 pin flat Plug. You need the 7 pin round Plug for brakes and aux power circuit. If you purchase the 7 /4 pin connector as in the link, It comes with a 4 pin flat plus bare wires for the brakes and power. You'll have to disconnect its flat plug to use 4 pin flat plug trailers. Sounds terribly inconvenient. I would hard wire the new 7 pin connector. Change all the trailer plugs to 7 pin and only use 4 if the trailer doesn't have brakes. |

| Yes, you understand my question. Since I know nothing about hardwiring, I 'll drop off the truck to my mechanic and have him do it. I am thinking if I purchase the kit, it should not be much of a cost. -or- do you think it is the same quality of work if I take it to the Uhaul dealer and have him install it and purchase the wire harness there. |
