I am looking at buying an 02 Merhow 3h Living quarters trailer. I know they are steel framed and aluminum skinned. Any comments, reviews, thoughts on how they perform or how long I can expect it to last with moderate use and good upkeep? Thanks.

Hi Brent,
I owned a 1987 Merhow, and had the trailer for 15 yrs. Loved it so much that when I was ready to move up to a LQ. went for a visit to the mfg. and was very impressed with the build process. I order a Equistar 2horse with a 5ft. lq. Nice people at Merhow and can't beat the 10yr warranty.

I sold the 1987 for 2,500. the trailer Looked almost new. Coated wood floors in great shape. I replaced the ramp at about 13 yrs. My trailer guy thinks a lot of the structure of the Merhow.

Good company and been around a long time.

The Merhow seem to be a much better trailer than the price indicates.  My brother has had the same one for at least 15 years. The only problems have been horse caused. They look good and when ever I have used it.  The trailer pulled like a dream. Don't know much about living quarters.  The shell the living quarters go's into should make a difference.  If the trailer was well taken care of should not be many issues.

I am in the market for a trailer now and one of the trailers we are looking at is the Merhow. In a eight foot wide Living Quarters you do get a lot of bang for the buck. I have been looking for a couple of months at almost everything out there. In my 60's this will be my last new trailer. Got to get it right. If I were to decide today it would be a Merhow. I told one company I would give them a chance to show me their latest and greatest before I buy. They are running out of time and I may order my Merhow soon. You won't have any regrets buying a Merhow.

We bought ours used in 2002 it's a 2000 valuelite. Just has week end package. I'm really pleased with it. Tows great, I usally drive all the time now and let my husband rest. He acutally falls asleep so he must be comfortable with me towing. Had a window break in horse part they were great to work with. My next one will be a merhow unless someone gives me something different. Can't see that happening.
Happy shopping exciting isn't it?

We bought our Merhow about a year and a half ago. This was our first new trailer, we looked for 6 months. Then we talked with a Gentleman in sales at the factory. he was extremely nice and helpful. My husband the engineer had to be sold. My husband is very happy with the answers and our new Merhow. We enjoy our trailer a lot. My husband likes to think he is smarter than most and we got the most our dollar would buy. I just like my trailer.
