Would appreciate some advice on tires. I have an elite 3 horse trailer with small living quarters and need to replace the tires. Two main places I drive are interstate highways and gravel roads in the mountains. Hankook and Kumho tires have been recommended to me. Any feedback on these are other strong suggestions?

I would use any American brand LT "E" range truck tires except Firestone.

Bite the bullet and get a set of.... Goodyear Unisteel G614RST. They only come in one size.

Best tire on the market in 16" as far as I am concerned...they are pricey, but keep your pressures up and they will last longer than the others...

Quote Gone from another thread....  I found a local company and priced them out at $1100 installed.

That's $275.00 each. That's a significant amout of cash, but what would it cost to replace a fender, lights, drop down window, from being damaged an old rotten blown out tire. How about the wrecker bill from when you slid off in the ditch trying to get out of a travel lane. Then you're late for the show, missed your class, One of the horses is getting a little colicy from the heat, stress and being scared of the semi's passing inches from their trailer window while it was slowly slipping down and into the ditch..... And if that ain't enough, those paper planes that the kids had made to entertain themselve and you while you waited on the shoulder of the road... Well, that was your Health Certificate and Coggings papers and the last you saw of them, they were heading the opposite direction, stuck to the chrome radiator grill of a 379 Pete with a load of hardwood..... All because of some poor sorry trailer tires..... "GOT USRIDER?"

She don't... I was just telling her what I would put on there if it were mine. If they didn't make the G614's I would go with a Michelin XPS Rib.

Gone has 8K axles and is somewhat limited to a source of good, heavy weight bearing tires. As shown, the choices are limited and they will be expensive.

Judyodom has a lighter trailer and axles, using common sizes and load ratings readily available from many sources.

She has none of the requirements that Gone has, yet it was said that she needs the same expensive equipment.

This isn't a fact at all and is a woefully misleading response to someone who needs an accurate reply.

There are many tires of many brands in the $125 - $150 range that will provide a long and satisfactory service span.

I missed one word..."small". All depends on what the size of the trailer is.

Michelins are a good tire, pricey again, but any American made 10 ply will work. I know some guys that have run the Hankook and Kumho's both and have been pleased, but they are not what I would use.

This isn't a fact at all and is a woefully misleading response to someone who needs an accurate reply. I could have suggested for her to get a set of P235-75R-16's.... How  woefully misleading would that have been.

Not trying to mislead anyone. Just telling them what works for me.
