Location: Tennessee | Anyone know a good source for replacement pop-up aluminum roof vents? A horse banged his head into the plastic shield on one of ours and busted it. Actually all I need is the plastic shield, like the ones Logan used on their older trailers (late 90s/early 2000s), but I have a feeling I won't find the plastic part separate of the vent. Any clues? Thanks. |

Location: western PA | I can't get the link to work. Go on EBay and type in "horse trailer vent". You will find an all aluminum 8" X 11" two way vent for $60 Gard

Location: Tennessee | Well, I looked at it (item #270339942187) but it doesn't have the plastic shield, which is all I really need. My vent is OK, just the shield thing is busted. Not sure if they even sell them any more but that's really all I am after. |

Location: Tennessee | Dang, that's not it either, Tresvolte. The thing I'm looking for is a rounded, oval-shaped plastic protector that extends down below the metal parts of the vent and keeps the horses' heads from hitting the vent itself. I'll try to attach a picture of it.

Location: western PA | If you can't find a replacement, it would only take a few minutes to fabricate one out of plywood stacked to the thickness you want. I don't have one on either of my trailers, and so far no problems. ( 8 & 9 years old) Of course there's always the impending chance that my Exiss will explode. Gard |

Location: Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain... | I'd probably try Logan and see what they can tell you. Who made it, or if they have any. You never know, they may have a box of them sitting there unused. Seen stranger things happen.... |

Location: Kansas | You can probably find just that part on ebay if you search like this: motor vehicles/other/rv/accessories/exterior. That's close anyway. Tons of fun things to buy for horse trailers there. |

Location: Wickenburg, AZ | Thanks for all the pointers to pop-up vent suppliers. I needed to order a new set myself.
The two vents I removed from the horse area were installed open-end forward, so that they would scoop in dust, bugs, and so on. I have been considering reversing the new ones, which would reduce the forced airflow but not scoop up as much garbage. Any reason I should not? I know if this were an auto I'd have to worry about negative pressure drawing in exhaust, but the exhaust is out front of trailer vents no matter what you do. |

Location: Tucumcari NM | I had the same problem. Fixed it with rigid foam board, glued together and cut to size. Works great.
