Location: Winnipeg Manitoba Canada | The question I have to ask is what's better for Draft horse's as in Shire horse's 18 plus hand's tall and weigh over 2300 lbs. I have been looking at 4 horse straight load's and slant load's. What do you use for these big horse's? I can't use stock trailer's as it get's to cold in the winter and do alot of transport during those month's for show's. Thanks Kurt |

Location: Texas | I would think that almost all slants aren't going to be long enough for guys that big.... at least not for long hauls. |

Location: Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain... | I have to agree with Greyhorse. Unless you special order changing the size of the stalls and angle of the stalls, no way there will be enough room. Go with the straight load. |

Location: Vermont | I have Percherons...and I use straight loading...for a 4,6 or 8 horse hitch...optimally you are using tractor trailer size equipment...

Location: NY | slant load will NOT work .The best is a stock trailer with stall in stalled. my trailer is a stock and the stalls are 7ft long I have a belgium 2000lb. also remember that all the weight is on one side, so if you go with a normal size trailer make sure that all that wight can go on one side. I found this out when my friend offered to take me to a park for a day ride and my horse got on and the trailer went down on that side to close to the tire for are liking so no go now i can take my or anybody horse anywhere |

Location: Teague, TX | I hauled draft horses with a 24' aluminum stock trailer. I think you could close up the slats with plexi glass for warmth. |

| Seal up the stock trailer, thats the best way to go for these big horses. If its sealed up properly it should be just as warm as a slant or straight. |

Location: Winnipeg Manitoba Canada | Thanks for the info, I know a stock trailer would problably be the best bet but like I said were I live it get's very cold into the low -40's during the winter. The trailer's I have been looking at are a 6 horse straight load made into haul 4 large horse's. The brand's I have been looking at are in no order: 4 Star, Featherlite, Hawk, Kiefer, Pegasus, Sundower. Who has any of these trailer's and how do you like them. What if any option's would you get with the trailer. Thanks Kurt |

Location: Texas | If you're ordering new talk to a Jamco dealer. Their factory is in Ontario which is a good ways from you but probably closer than the others you listed. |
