Location: Sulphur, OK | I have a foal born with a sarcoid tumor on the inside of his right rear ankle. It has grown as he has grown and is now the size of a lemon. Does anybody have any idea how to treat this or get it to shrink? He bumps it all the time and it bleeds. Please help!! |

Location: Kansas | I had a gelding with one on his neck. It just gradually went away on it's own. Tea tree oil may be effective on these but that is just anecdotal evidence. By which I mean, it seemed to work for me, but maybe other factors were going on at the same time. I'd call the vet since it breaks open and bleeds, just to see if it was worth removing. |

Location: Sulphur, OK | As a last resort, we have plans to take him and have it surgically removed depending if it is attached to the joint or not. We were looking for any kind of remedy to try and use surgery as a last resort. Thanks for your reply. |

Location: MI. | Personally, I'd have it removed. Even benign fatty tumors can invade causing further issues. |

Location: La Cygne, KS | Sounds like the location of the sarcoid is causing it to become irritated. I'd have it removed, but if you want to try least evasive approach first then see if your vet can obtain some bloodroot salve. I had an older mare develop a sarcoid on her neck and the bloodroot salve was very effective in removing the sarcoid. No scar was left either. |

Location: Sulphur, OK | We did that already and it didn't help at all. It actually seemed to inflame it and make it bigger. I'm afraid we have no choice but to remove it surgically. He is the most spectacular colt, Paint people will love him. I just hope its benign and removable. www.mariahqh.com |

Location: Sulphur, OK | I took some of the pictures, but others were just so wonderful I had to post them on the website. We're going to try the Tea Tree Oil this weekend on the colt to see if it does anything at all. At least we're going to try. Have you every tried to catch a bumble bee on a string? Same scenario.  |

Location: Danielsville Georgia | I've had them cut off to return.In fact more then once.Have also used a chemical that is banadged and retreated severa times.I have had that work but also have had them appear gone to return in the same spot months later..I have also had them laser off.That worked.Have had a vet freeze them off.That worked. |
