My friend wants to know whether anyone has used a Shocker Hitch (or other similar airbag hitch) on a bumper pull trailer, and if so, how did they like it?  http://www.shockerhitch.com/index.php?pr=Receiver_Hitch

Never heard of it.   I am not quite sure why you need it.

I'm not sure either... like I said, my friend is looking into it.  I think she said she's trying to reduce some of the crackerjacking that happens at the joint between the truck and trailer... the "V" effect when you go over bumps.

I think I would just run torsion bars instead. Bars are probably cheaper and they make the ride 10x better.

Do you mean a WDH?  I thought that was mostly for preventing sway, and (of course) distributing the weight forward on the truck.  I guess that probably *would* do a lot of what she's hoping for...?  I dunno, it's been years since I had a BP trailer and I always had a WDH so I never got to see what it was like without it.

Yes a WDH. I use mine every time I pull a trailer. If its set up right It makes the ride in the truck and trailer a whole lot better. The bars take alot of the bounce out. You can get the ones with cam ends on the bar for sway control if you want. But if you want sway control later it can be added. Trust me WDH is the way to go. The air ride has been around for several yrs. But I have never seen one used. Just my 2 cents
