Anyone have any feedback on the 2H BP / slant load Runabout with a dressing room? I looked at them this weekend and was intrigued. I know they are not made completely the same as the higher priced 4-Stars but they appear to be hybrid that might work for me. My main concern is if they are roomy enough for 2 horses. I usually only haul 1 horse (16.1 H Tb wears a size 80 blanket) but if I haul another horse--they are her size or larger. I have always had straight load trailers and they seem to have more room (lengthwise). The one area is large because they don't have a tack area in the back of the trailer--but the 2nd stall is tighter. I currently have a 2h BP Merhow but it doesn't have a dressing room. I am looking to upgrade to a dressing room--but don't want something too much bigger/longer--I like my little rig for getting in and out of tight places. I am also considering the Hawk 2H BP with dressing room (straight load).

I have a friend with the 4-Star Runabout and she loves it. She has small horses though. In light of the size of horses you have, I would go with the straight load. Your horses will be happier unless you get a slant made with extra large stalls. When I bought a two horse for ease of getting into trail heads, I went with a straight load because I have 1 or 2 large horses. They fit very nicely in the straight load with plenty of room. Some of my friends have 2 horse slants and I have managed to squish him in them, but I wouldn't want to do it regularly.
