| So I was all set to buy a new 24' x7' Exiss gooseneck stock trailer. Then the dealer called and said that they were sold out but would give me a Sooner for the same money. What's the difference in these two trailers? Am I gaining or loosing? |

Location: Tenn/Ala. | Same plant, same line, different materials. The Sooner extrusions are heavier. The rear end is heavier. When we had 1 of each here, the Sooner weighed 700# more (according to the MSO), with the difference being in materials content. The biggest difference is in the side slats as the Sooner will use a patented "triple hollow core slat". A pretty neat slat that is rippled on the outside, smooth on the inside, hollow in the middle. Same tires, axles, and neck. Sounds like a great deal to me, as there's usually $2,500 difference give or take.

Location: Decatur, Texas | Get the Sooner. They are both built buy the same company now, but Sooner has alway a little stronger than Exiss.
Think of it like this if you are buying a new truck it would be like buying a 1/2 vs. 3/4 ton or buying a loaded out truck vs. a base model.
We have had both Exiss and Sooner in LQ horse trailers, both was good trailers but again both was right before the Universal change over. |

Location: Tenn/Ala. | Sooner has used pretty heavy extrusions for some time. UTC still uses the same ones today, to the best of my knowledge. There is a floor plank that is exclusive to the Sooner Ranch stock trailer. The wall slat is used on many Sooners. And the last time I had a new Sooner & Exiss side by side the header reinforcements inside the rear frame were much heavier in the Sooner. A full .25" plate on the Sooner if I recall correctly. Hence the 700# or so. |

| I got the Sooner SR724 Ranch and I'm VERY happy with it so far. I took some time comairing it to the Exiss and their is substantial differences in my oppinion. The Sooner was 7'2" high inside, VS the Exiss 7' Much stouter rear gate construction and rear posts/corners. Different neck design gussted in the corners. Different axles, Sooner uses Nevr Lube, Exiss uses EZ lube. Triple Core Slats on the Sooner. etc etc, I would say the Sooner is a SUBSTANTIALLY better built trailer. I guess I'll tell you in 10 years if my observations are correct. Haha |

Location: Florida | I am very pleased with our Sooner SE228 (Sooner Equine 2 horse 28 feet long) w/10' LQ 8'w 7'6" tall We sold our 2h bp wdr Cherokee Super chief that we special ordered. We knew to get to a LQ trailer with the options we wanted the best plan was used. Ultimately I was getting very disappointed with all the local talent. I like shiny, clean and sharp looking toys and frankly (No offense to anyone) not everyone cares for their horse trailer like that. After well over 12 months of searching we fell upon our current Sooner. Short of the long, We love it. Our model (2004) I believe was pre the merge of the three companies. Yes I discovered the never-lube hubs and many other well built tid bits of the trailer over the last year. I hope this one is with us for a long time. Good luck with your searching
