We are finishing our conversion and have lots of questions. Do you screw the holding tanks directly to floor sheeting between floor joist or do they need to be srewed to joist? Next do we need to vent both black and gray tanks  through the roof? We are a little behind on venting since the walls are already finished. Would greatly appreciate any feed back on these Q's.

Depends on the tank design, some of them have a lip around the edge and they are held up by screw through the floor, other designs have indentions for straps to hold them up. I have mine made out of aluminum to fit the trailer that I am working on, so I would have the mounting brackets welded on lower so I could bolt mine to the I beams under the trailer, just in case one was to get torn off it wouldn't be top bad of a job to replace it. The tanks must be flush to the underside of the floor of the trailer. As far as the vent goes I always vented both tanks into one pipe through the ceiling. The tanks should be one of the first things you do because the toilet has to sit on top of the black one.
