Location: Tulsa, OK | I had a 2006 BP 2 horse slant Sundowner 727 trailer stolen on 1/14/09 near Colcord, OK. I've reported it to the county sheriff. I've posted it under stolen trailers on this site. Does anyone have any other recommendations as to how to find the trailer? |

Location: Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain... | I would write up the info on the trailer and fax or email it to all the dealers that you can in the state. I had one stolen years ago, never saw it again. I make sure that my insurance is paid up at all times. |

Location: North of Detroit, MI | net posse lists stolen / missing horses and trailers http://www.netposse.com/ Watch all the for sale sites. Craigs list, Ebay, usedtrailers.com, DreamHorse, etc. Contact all trailer dealers in your state and nearby. Put photos and ads in newspapers. Did you also lose tack / equipment? Be sure to watch for those items coming up for sale too. auctions. |

Location: La Cygne, KS | Been there too. Also post a stolen ad on Craigslist. Contact the manufacture too with your VIN in case they try to get replacement keys if the trailer was locked. Did you have a hitch lock on it? Your next hurdle will be the insurance company on the value of the trailer. I used this site and called several dealers to help me value my trailer correctly (it was less than four months old). PS. We never got the trailer or contents back, but the crook was caught. |

Location: Tulsa, OK | Thanks for the info. Yes, it had a hitch lock. They knocked it off. Next time I'm also going to buy a wheel lock. |

Location: Barnesville, Ga. | Just wondering if your insurance allows you anything for the contents of your tack room? Saddles, equipment or such. Never had a trailer stolen, but this makes me think about the what if's. |

Location: Lone Oak, Tx | It's funny, this brings back bad memories of a vacation a few years back... The way the sherrifs department located our trailer was through the vin munbers on the axles. The thiefs gouged out the vin numbers but left the plates on the axles. They called the trailer manufacturer and that's how they figured that out. Something to think about. Our homeowners insurance of all things covered the tack since the trailer had living quarters in it. Didn't get our stuff back but at least they had found the trailer, a week after we brought our new one home. Wheel locks are the best. Hitch locks are about worthless, especially on a GN trailer. HOpe some of this helps.

Location: Georgia | Just curious...I have an electric over hydraulic jack that you have to have a key to operate. Will that deter a thief or can it be "hotwired" similar to a car? |
