Location: Odenville, Alabama | Boy that's a shame. I know if my Aussie took off, she would NOT come if called to anyone other than her family. She's very timid. Sounds like this dog is too. Hope it all turns out well. I hate hearing of stuff like this |

Location: Marquette MI | Any thoughts this dog may try to get back home to Brainerd?
The first report I read said he was last seen heading North, if I recall correctly.
I know my Aussie/Border collie would bolt if anyone tried to catch him. He was abandoned and on his own for six weeks when just a tiny puppy, in one of the coldest, snowiest winters. The whole neighborhood tried to catch him, left food and water out for him, and finally my husband was able to sneak up on him while he was exhausted and sleeping. He seemed none the worse for wear, even at that tender age, and I hope Hawkeye will find places to stay warm until he can get to safety.
I'd also suggest that the contact people find out what commands Hawkeye does respond to, favorite treats, etc. - which might be helpful in luring this often skittish breed to come to a searcher.
I will be watching for updates and keeping Hawkeye in my thoughts and prayers! |
