Where can I find the VIN on an older horse trailer... I don't know the make.

If you can't find a tag I would look around the hitch and on the underside of the frame for something stamped in the metal. Might not even have a # depending on how old.

If there is a data plate on the trailer, the VIN should be on it. Sometimes, manufacturers also etch or stamp it onto the tow frame.  Look on the body, inside of doors, etc. for the data plate.

On my BP trailers they are on the front of the frame nearby the hitch. On my Gn trailers, one is on the forward, vertical bulkhead, the other is on the frame, near the top part of the GN hitch.
