Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker for some time, and admire all the knowledge that is collectively present in this forum.
I'm finally at a stage where I'm actively looking for a new trailer...I've narrowed it down to GN, straightload, either 2H or 2+1, and will consider either all aluminum or steel/aluminum (that part isn't so crucial to me). I'm posting a link to the model of trailer I've found used (Featherlite GN, 2H straight load, all aluminum, 2003 model, but bought new in 2004, offered for sale for $12 000 Cdn.).

http://www.fthr.com/gooseneck_horse-trailer/model9607/

I've been reading all the 'red flag' comments about Featherlite, but was wondering if either:

a) anyone has this trailer or knows of this trailer and has input?
b) is it of the "pre-Universal" era, and therefore of better quality than the new ones?
c) worth considering for my needs, or might I be better to look further? I thought the price was reasonable.

Many thanks in advance for the expert comments I hope to receive!

~Jeannie

We have a 2+1 Sooner.  Love it, love the style.  More camping gear than one can image goes in the mid tack space. and to boot ours is an 8 foot wide trailer my horse can play cards and drink beers back there.  But seriously.  I am partial to the Featherlight it is a well constructed trailer.  and even if it is pre or post Universal trailers it is a nice trailer to have.  Good luck

Just a heads up: The photos don't work (for me) on the link you posted.
