Location: Decatur, Texas | This is the trailer we just bought and now we are in need of some information. First I have sent an email to Sundowner requesting an owner manuel. We are wanting to use it this weekend and trying to figure out how the drains on the water heater and fresh water tank works. I figure it would be like our other trailers, but guess not. I found 1 valve on the water heater, 2 valves under the sink going through the floor and 2 on the fresh water tank. I figured out how to drain the fresh water tank, but that is as far as I got. Also, it has a large fresh water tank in the mangers with a pump and 1-2 way valve going through the floor. I switched it both directions and it is either off or on to the pump. How would I drain this tank without running the pump and pumping out the water? Last, it has a 15" flip down flat screen, would this be already hooked up to the antenna or is there a switch for the antenna that I am overlooking? I did not realizer how different Sundowners LQ set up is compaired to others. Thanks |

Location: Tenn/Ala. | HogTB- Its been awile, but since no one else has pitched in, I'll try. If memory serves correctly there are two water valves around the water heater. These did vary depending on what individual did the plumbing. But generally, you turn both clockwise to be in the winterize mode, which will bypass the HWH. Turn both counterclockwise to open them and allow water into the heater for general operation. If you hook up your city water hose, when you open them you'll hear water rushing into the heater. By the way- go to the outside and make sure the plastic drain plug is installed in the heater. Some folks leave it removed for winterizing. At the water tank- 1 should be a drain. The other valve should have 3-4 feet of hose on it- this is a built in anti-freeze injector. Make sure this valve is closed or the pump will suck air rather than water- or worse the water tank will empty through it onto your floor. And if its installed correctly- that's a drain valve in your manger. Open to drain- off to run.

Location: Decatur, Texas | Thank you, there is just one on the back of the water heater, one on the toilet. The one in the manger I still can't figure out, I turned it both ways and did not drain, I had to run the pump to drain the tank. The plactic plug in the water heater, that does not need to be replaced with one of the rods? Our others had some type of rod installed instead of a plactic plug. |

Location: Tenn/Ala. | HTB- I just learned that newer S/D use 1 valve, and a one way check valve. So you should be able to twist it to fill the heater one way or the other. Don't forget you'll need to open a hot water faucet to allow the air to escape & filling to begin. On the plug- no. The sacrificial anode rods are for steel tanks. Your HWH has an aluminum tank. THe plastic is all that's needed. |
