Location: Dayton, OHio | How are modern lq trailers wired for battery charging? If I turn off the main power switch, (not at the breaker box, but the switch by the door) will the battery still trickle charge if the trailer is plugged in over the winter? |

Location: Texas | If you're talking about the switch by the batteries, no it won't charge. Your converter is going to have to have power (120V) and the the switch to the batteries has to be on also. |

Location: western PA | The problem some of us are having, in trying to answer your question, is that we don't all own SD trailers. RE your switch. If it's a main battery switch, and it has to be turned on, in order for any thing electrical to work inside, then yes. It has to be turned on for the batteries to charge. Activating the switch will also power up your whole electrical system. If you were to review the following postings, you will find additional information on the usage of a stand alone float charger for your batteries.
