Anyone looking for a great place to camp in North Fla - 4 of us recently stayed at 7 Bar L Ranch in Live Oak, FL. The owners (Andy & Crystal Lawrence) are really nice and have a great place to camp and relax. Facilties include: 18 electric/water hook-ups as well as about 4 w/ sewer. You camp around a pond fringed by huge moss filled oak trees. There is a bathouse w/ showers and toilet (new separate facility under construction closer to the campground area), fire ring w/ chairs and firewood provided. Dogs are welcome and their 2 spent the days with us and went out on the trails as well. they have a tackroom you can put all your tack, grain, & hay in if you want. They have 12 covered stalls as well as 120 acre pasture, 4 acre pasture, and other smaller pastures you can use for your horses. You ride about 15 minutes to reach the water management areas to ride which include Mattair, Woods Ferry, Linville, Suwannee Springs, and you can easily ride to Spirit of the Suwanne Music park, ride those trails, and continue to Fox trail. They have quite a bit of property surrounding the camping area and even a 400+ year old oak tree that is magnicifient. Their daughter barrel races competively and they have several horses of their own. The city of Live Oak is only 3 miles away and we went into town one night and had a great dinner at the Brown Lantern restaurant. & Bar L is only about 2 miles from I10 so it's easy to find. We really enjoyed camping there and will go back. Just wanted to share this place with everyone else.
