Location: Toronto ontario canada | I'm looking for opinion or advice on using painted hardboard for ceiling panneling . Home Depo has 4'x8'x1/8" white painted hardboard for $12.00 each. and was wondering if anyone on this forum has had any experience with this product ( pros & cons ) I know there are other materials available for this application but you can't beat this price Ted. |

Location: Toronto ontario canada | The roof has been insulated with 1" blue SM styrafoam and taped with foil tape and it is furred with 1"x3". so there will be a 3/4" air space betwween the back side of the hardbaord and the alluminum roof. Will it still sweat and create condensation? |

Location: Toronto ontario canada | Gard, Do you mean the hardboard should work fine "IF" I don't have any condensation problems or the hardboard should work fine and I "will not'" have any condensation problems ?

Location: western PA | Because you have installed one inch of insulation, the warm, moist, inside air cannot contact the cool skin of the exterior walls/ceiling. This direct contact is what causes condensation. When the warm air is cooled, it cannot hold as much water vapor, and it forms droplets on the cool metal skin. | In my trailer I did a suspended cieling with the cieling tiles. It worked really well because I then put 4 - 5 inch rolled insulation between it and the trailer roof. |

Location: Iowa | sidelock, How did you get the 1" insulation to stay? nd deb.. Did you use home insulation in your trailer? I would like to do something simple to mine. I only sleep in it a few times out of the year, but it's always in the fall. Futurity Time, September & October. It can get really chilly in there at night. I just want something EASY I can do myself. Thanks |

Location: Toronto ontario canada | I used one inch rigid styrafoam insulation ( 4'x8' pink sheets) from home depot, cut it to fit snug between the ceiling / roof supports and wall frame and applied a few dabs of polyurathane calking to the back side of the foam set it in place and then taped it to the supports and frame with aluminum foil tape. Some people don't bother with the calking but I thought it may prevent the isulation from squeeking.

| I used household insulation. The pink stuff that is in a roll. There was enough room for it between the ceiling and the suspended ceiling. I threaded it thru. I used just foam board for the walls. I cut them to fit between the braces. |

| For a heater I have been just using a milk house heater or one of the ones that look like a radiator that are electric and has oil in it that heats it up. I have used one of these when I am at a show were I can plug in and it stays pretty warm in there. The area I finished off is 4 by 8. I also just run the cord thru the door. The door is able to shut with the cord going thru. I haven't yet been able to put a plug in in the trailer, so I just run an ext cord under the door. For places that I don't have a place to plug in then I have one of those smaller quiet honda generators to use. I haven't had to use the generator yet thou. |
