I can't seem to find any type of site that will break down trailer prices such as KBB or edmunds.com does for autos. I am looking at a 2009 Exiss ES8410 LQ asking price $47,999. Has anyone bought this or a similar trailer? If so, how deep can you get into the dealer, 10%, 20%, 30%? I understand that the mark up on the trailer may vary dealer to dealer, but this trailer this price, how much better could I expect to get? Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is no book or website for trailer values. Most dealers on new trailers will price fairly close to what they have to sell trailer for. In this economy, the days of inflated trailer prices have mostly disappeared. You can try to negotiate on the price but I doubt that you will get much off. This also does depend on the individual dealers pricing policy.

Good Luck, trguy4820

In additon to what's been said... when you are talking about trailers with LQ - the pricing on the interior can vary widely depending on who did the interior and how high-end it is.

Slide-outs, awnings, wall finishes, appliances, fireplaces, Widescreen TVs, etc. all factor into the interior cost which could have a diff markup than the trailer.

That's what makes comparing one to another difficult.

You can also run a search on here to see how other brands comparably equipped are priced. If it is still on here, there is an 07 Merhow (new) that Diamond J has marked way down and it is a beautiful trailer. You can get a brand new 07 or 08 trailer for less than a similar 09, I think.   The Merhow I mentioned is Listing #  105925

Use this very website; and go to the WANTED link, and put on their the model and all the options you want on the trailer.  The only people that can pull information out of this section is dealers.  They will than contact you with what they can do for you.  Pretty easy shopping !!!  Just remember though, you may need this trailer worked on some day, and to get the fastest service is from the dealer near home that you bought it from.

i had my eye on a  new silverlite GN  at a local  small dealer in my area for a few months last year . finally sold my trailer and went to take a serious look at the silverlite. it just happened to be in February and  as cold as the dickens that day. I thought, this is a   GOOD TIME TO BUY  , winter sales are slow, they,ll be eager to deal.  The Sticker said $16,900.  this happened to be the only trailer I  really liked enough to pay sticker price , But when I got there They were very eager to deal and quoted me a price of $13,000 out the door.  Needless to say I BOUGHT IT ON THE SPOT .

YA NEVER KNOW !!

Basically what I got the last time I was thinking of getting a new trailer, I didn't, the trailer manufacturers seem largely to dictate what the trailer dealers can sell the trailers for. What you might get more then money off the trailer, is free add ons. Good luck on you hunt for a new trailer.

I love this forum bc I love horse trailers! Let me suggest finding the traile you want, getting all specs, price, etc. That is what I did when I bought my Sundowner last March. After you have looked, priced locally, etc., just type in the brand, model number, etc. into Google. You will get a large amount of dealers who have that model trailer for sale. You will need to sift through them, use email and check out the pics they have online, but believe me, it will be worth the homework. I ended up getting my 6908 Sundowner 3 horse LQ from Altmeyer Trailers in Pennsylvania for about $6000 less than I could find it anywhere else. And, they delivered it to me way in South Carolina in 2 days with 2 full LP tanks, winterized and ready to go for only $600. That was a deal. It was my first LQ purchase and Jeff Altmeyer not only beat everyone's prices, but was great to deal with and the trailer I bought sight unseen was even better than I thought. I knew just what I wanted...sofa, walk-thru door, bathroom, etc., and I had looked at all brands and talked to many dealers and individuals both who had new and used and I decided to go new based on money. I was so pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. If you are going to keep this trailer, I would get the best you could afford. If you are going to trade up, I still would get a lower end good name-brand trailer that has a good resale value. Hope this helps. Deb MedicineHatPaint lady.

By the way, there is a good-sized mark up on trailers. I have a friend who works for a small trailer manufacturer and we were just talking about this this past weekend. I don't know about now, with the economy being what it is, but previously,it did not cost that much to make the trailers, she said.

Hi,  Before you spend 47,000 on a new trailer, I have a Kieferbuilt 8144 w/Living Quarters 2006 for sale that has never had a horse in it.   I have it listed at 42,000.  It is a beautiful trailer with all the bells and whistles.

Good Luck finding the horse trailer your looking for.

Brian - not sure where you are located in Ca., but I was down in San Martin (South of San Jose and North of Gilroy) and saw a horse trailer sales place right off the 101 freeway, next to Camping World.  Always curious, as I had just recently purchased a gooseneck for myself, my friend and I went in.  First, there is no place I have ever found a KBB - like site giving pricing / wholesale, etc., but this place really had the prices marked WAY down just to move trailers.  They carrier Exiss, Sooner, Morgan, Thuro, etc.  They had the whole gamut of sizes and layouts with some prices knocked off $20K.  If you are in that area, it is worth finding the name.  Worse case, you could call Camping World and ask them the name of the outfit and give them a call to see what they have and what could be done.
