Hey all, we're getting ready to store our Hawk Trailer for the winter. Has anyone  out there had any success in restoring the original shine on a brushed Aluminum Finish. It's similar to the Trail-Et, not a smooth Aluminum. We've been able to clean it, but not keep a shine on it. The factory suggested WD40, and it looked great, but only for about a week. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Cleaning and polishing are two different things. Polishing includes mechanical buffing of the metal, a time consuming and laborious process. There are some cleaners that will "brighten" an aluminum finish by removing the oxidation. If the metal isn't then sealed with a polish or coating, it will continue to eventually dull again. It is a natural process with aluminum.

Our resident expert on cleaners is CRG. Many people have taken her advise using "Streakmaster products".  http://www.streakmaster.com/

google aluma-brite.  It is incredibly easy to use, spray on 50/50 mix, rub gently with rag, wash off.  Makes trailer look better than new.
