Hi All... I'm a new poster, and also a new trailer owner! :)

I just bought this trailer:

What can I do to re-enforce the floor on it? I'm a little paranoid with the wood floors but this was a deal, I just couldn't pass up! :) Also, what can we do to avoid rust on this all steel trailer?

Any info would be appreciated!

wood floors last a long time. We have an older stock trailer that we only haul livestock in and hardly ever clean it out. The floor will outlast the rusting steel. So don't be paranoid- bed it down and clean it out. It will be fine.

As far as the steel, I'd keep in inside as much as possible. Keep it clean but this is why I bought a all aluminum.

My finding with this trailer brand and having my husband as a contractor is that there should be more bolts/screws where boards are fastened to frame and that the holes should be pre bored, to avoid having the boards bow, or the boards crack, which is two issues I am dealing with on my trailer. I had a logan with wood floors previously and had no problems. But I trailer with shavings, clean the trailer out after every use, and annually pull my mats, wash the floor, and repaint. Many people have the floors sprayed with the bedliner spray on stuff and have had good things to say about that.
