Location: Allegan, Michigan | I thought I would lighten things up in here and have everyone share a pic of their favorite horse and why they are your favorite. Since my hubby is in Afghanistan I will share his favorite horse in his honor. Her name is Miss Ruby Leather, she is a registered Spotted Draft. She is my hubby's horse and his equine best friend. This is my favorite picture of him and his horse, it was taken earlier this summer when he was home on leave. |

Location: Northern Utah | This is Porter a 1/2 Arab 1/2 Saddlebred. He has been with me 12 years and seen and done almost everything. He has packed my camp in hunting, hauled out elk and deer, taught my daughters to ride, been a 4H horse for my daughter and carried me on lots of endurance and CTR rides.

Location: Goreville, Illinois | This is my mare Sunny. She is a red dun 5-year-old grade. SHe is a great trail horse and she wants badly to be a barrel horse. She has the heart of gold and will do anything you ask of her. SHe will walk over, through, or under anything. She will go as slow as she needs to with a kid on her or as fast as I ask her to. She has done all events at our local fun shows and I am hoping she will take my daughter to the pay window in barrels. SHe is one of the best ones I have ever had!! THe pic was taken last year and hse looks tons better this year. |

Location: Northern Utah | I had to edit my post and reinsert the photos. I'm not sure what was going on. I just selected the "DIRECT LINK" in Photo bucket and the click on the little icon that looks like a picture with small mountain, When the dialog box opens highlight and delete the "HTTP://" and paste in the infor from the directlink and you should be good. |

Use this one. It is the third option below the pictures in Photobucket
img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/bbsmfg3/MERLIN.jpg"
And it gives the picture below
This is my unregistered gaited horse that carries me everywhere.

Location: Foley, MO | Here's my paint mare, Jewel. She's APHA registered, Fancy Lady Jewel, and is built like a tank. I know some aren't fond of Impressive breeding, but she's HYPP N/N so I think I'll keep her...

He's a sweetie and not a horse, but a mule. |

Location: La Cygne, KS | Gosh, all my horses are my favorite - but this one is my pocket horse. She is 5 years old and very sweet, not to mention athletic. All I have to do is call her and she comes running - even when she knows we are going riding. She's my first Missouri Fox Trotter. |

Location: Illinois | How can I pick a favorite! This is my current "favorite", Lucy. My son is behind us on his favorite, Junie B. My son and Junie from the 2008 County Fair Mans best friends, Dusty & Banjo I have to include my best partner of 16 years, "Shadow" (aka Butthead). He was only 2 here, where did the time go. He died at age 18. Sorry to bore you with so many, I can't pick just one! |

Location: Southern New Mexico | Those donkeys are darling! I've got a few thieves too. My yearling, 2yr old, their 6yr old dam and two 2 yr old english mastiffs. They are great for clutter control and making sure you put your tools away. They will walk off and play with (or eat) anything!! I have to buy a new remote for my car, I guess they figured to teach me to not leave the keys hanging in the door.

Today was really lousy at work, I got home to see my little boys carrying a halter and leadrope around. They pick stuff up and always carry it together. (like in the picture of the toy shovel). They are amazing animals, I am thankful they found me! My old appie was a thief too, he had "charm". I often think my donkeys are eating grass too close to the apps grave! I entered that photo in a local cutest pet contest, we didn't even make the finalist section! But, I know they're cute! Thanks again for the kind words, you made my day! |

Location: Illinois | Ok, I just had to add a few more of those naughty donkeys! This is Banjo when he was just a few days old. Here is Banjo the morning after he was born (8/18/06) He loves me (mutual), and if I sit down and rub his side, he lays down! (he's almost too big for that now) Ok, last one, we bought this gelding to make some money on and he was so nice, we kept him! My husband and son fight over him. 5 year old QH "Doc" |

Here is a pic of my 27 year-old best friend. I've had him 21 years. I think everyone should have at least one! We started with Dusty, and decided that an only donkey was a lonely donkey Sooo, we started looking. What we found were expensive! Then, along comes a deal I couldn't pass up. A lady had a Jennet that she just wanted to get rid of. I looked at her, she wasn't friendly (but I could work on that), and she looked bred. I asked if she was, but the people thought the gestation was only 9 months and said that she couldnt be bred. I picked up "Margaret" (my son named her) for 40 bucks. 6 weeks later we were blessed with Banjo. I sold Margaret last year, and Dusty and Banjo are thriving together. Now I just need to get Banjo "cut". He's a good Jack, but he'd be better off without "them". Gorgeous costume and horse. Your blessed to have had him for 21 years, I hope my Lucy stays with me for that long. Hope everyone has a safe Labor Day, were hitting the trail in the morning. Diane |
