Has anyone ever heard of this type of saddle? My husband got a saddle 10 years or so ago from a sale in IL somwhere and on the back of the seat is a little silver plaque that says "Ralph Ridout Saddle"- Poplar Bluff MO. The saddle seems to be made for a women because it has a high "sway" up to the in the front. Hubby calls it a "Ba@$ Buster" and a man has never rode in it comfortably ;) But I absolutly love it!! I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this saddle maker before? Just wondering who made this wonderful saddle. The saddle looks like crap from years of wear and tear but I refuse to part with it.

I can't believe you have Ralph's old saddle. Ralph didn't make any saddles that I know of. He used to trade some tack and was an avid trailrider. He was one of the original cardiac cowboys, a group of older people that rode every week. He passed a few years ago. I remember his saddle. He just melted down in it with those big swells and cantle. I have no idea what kind it was but it sure fit him. If that saddle could tell stories! Treasure that saddle as I have never seen another one like it and I'm sure Ralph is watching over you from heaven.
