What's in each bar of soap.

They use nothing but the finest ingredients, no animal products!  The makers use a soap making process known as “cold process” soap making or “cp soap”. There are other processes available and the company has investigated some of them, but they prefer this process.  Their soaps are very mild and pleasing to the senses.

Skin friendly ingredients include olive oil, shea butter, apricot kernel oil grapefruit seed extract and liquid silk. Base oils include the use of coconut oil, palm kernel oil and soy. This formula makes a very hard soap and if allowed to drain between uses will last a long time. It also gives a very high lather and is gentle to the moisture properties of the skin.

About the manufacturer  (from their own website)

Hidden Valley Farms started when we lived on a mountain top in Republic Washington in a one room log cabin with gravity fed water and solar power. Wanting to support ourselves in that remote location we decided to make herbal soap for three basic reasons. First, we were already growing skin healing herbs of comfrey, calendula and chamomile. Second, it was something we could start with very little funding. And Finally, it represented a wholesome product that we felt compelled to bring to market. Our name, "Hidden Valley Farms" came from the fact that we grew the herbs in our organic gardens that was truly hidden away up there on that mountain top.

Growth Spurt
As the months came and went, we slowly accumulated retailers from all over Washington State. We finally outgrew our one room log cabin and had to move into a more accessible location. Our new location offered us much better accessibility to retail markets. We are now located on a ranch in western Washington not far from Mt. Rainier. Converting an old barn into both factory and living quarters, our little business has thrived for five years. A constant routine of travel and sales, then coming back for more manufacturing and design has provided us with a unique product line of soaps that our retailers have assisted us in developing.

Our Secret
Our soaps cater to the practical and the whimsical due to the unique design of the wrappers and the wonderful soaps inside. Knowing that a continuance of business requires exceptional qualities in the recipe and mixing, we continually strive for a bar with higher lather and more moisturizing and healing qualities. Utilizing the highest food grade vegetable ingredients, ultra pure well water, and our own unique style of blending, we have drawn customers from Alaska to Florida. From national park services to museums and fine gift shops, to national catalog houses and health clinics, our fine line of gourmet soaps are now considered among the very best. Additionally, we have set up an in-house graphic arts department for custom contract wrapper designs.
