I have two trailers, and each one has the door on a different side. The only difference is how the LQs are arranged. As far as ownership and usage, I can't see any benefit or disparity of one over the other. At rides or show grounds, there is ample space for either usage. If you were parked on a city street, a curbside entry would be safer. I have never been in a situation where one had any advantage over the other.

I had one once with a streetside door. Loved it except for one thing. Sewer dumps were right under the door. It was a small LQ so there wasn't room for them to be anywhere else. Eveything else about it I loved.

I had one and loved it! The only draw back if you will, is that at some campgrounds you may have to pull in instead of backing in. I would have another one in a heartbeat! Good luck in you search.

I bought a trailer about 10 years ago that had the LQ door streetside. I wouldn't want one any other way now. I have ordered two new LQ trailers since and ordered the door streetside on both. The last one had a mid tack, so, we had a door on each side.

I had one and would never buy one again.  All campgrounds and dump stations are configured for the opposite side and its a pain to work around that.  You can pull in instead of backing in, but if you need your truck, you have to leave enough room to drive out.  In some cases, that's not possible.

Also, my escape door was on the same side as the LQ access door, which, IMO, made it useless.

I could see where that would be a problem, but, since I have never been to a campground in my life, it's not an issue to me. I've only been to a couple of horse shows that had hook ups and they were available for either side.

Find the LQ layout you love and get it. My LQ door is curb side but just about everybody we camp with has their LQ door on the street side. Really cool for us b/c then we can share awning, cooking, & sitting space while keeping horses out of the way to the outside of the trailers and getting the trucks out isn't an issue.

We use our escape door to access the stud stall which always has hay, feed, etc in it. I've never heard anybody refer the their escape door as useless before but to each his own.

We have two street side doors... this is the first one that isn't curbside. I like it, but usually carry a heavy duty extension cord for the hook-ups just in case it wouldn't reach... never have had to use it yet. If you find the trailer of your dreams, don't let a door be a deciding factor.

My LQ door and my escape door on the same side of the trailer (driver's side) and I love it because I use the escape door to access the walkthru door thereby making the first stall a "mud" room before entering the LQ. Also the people I camp with most of the time have their LQ door on the passenger's side and we get to face each other at the camp ground.

Our LQ door is on the curb side so I have'nt known any thing else. I do like the fact when we have had to pull off on the side of the road that we could enter the LQ without being beside oncoming traffic.
