Our awning fabric ( don't really know if that is what you would call it) dryrotted at the top where the sun/rain/etc continually beat down on it and we were wondering how hard it is to replace the fabric into the roller. All the other components of the awning are in good working order. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Take it to someone that makes their living working on and installing awnings, pay them to make the necessary repairs..... That thing is like some sort of giant spring steel rodent trap!!

I have worked in the RV business for years . Replacing awning fabric is easy but it does have springs inside the roller tube that look like garage door springs. So if you try and do it your self just be careful. An RV dealer will probably charge you about $150 to $200 for labor on a job like this.

I replaced the awning material on my GN and I ended up taking it to a RV dealer. With the strength of the springs in it. It was safer to let some one who works on them do it...I think my final price was around 250 but I had to replace the latch to release the awning. Also if you know the name of the comapny who made it,you can order it from them ,then have it installed. My is a Care Free of Colorado I believe....
