How tall and deep are the upper cabinets in trailers usually ? The ceiling height in my trailer is 81".

Over my sink I went 12" deep inside, the cab that houses the micro is 14". Height? Go in the house and measure between the countertop and uppers.

As a woman, when I designed our cabinets, I thought about what I wanted to put in them. For instance, will they be tall enough and deep enough for cereal boxes, etc? When judging the clearance between the base cabs & upper cabs, try cutting a cardboard box in roughly the dimensions you were thinking of, & see how it looks, then imagine standing at the counter to work. Also, consider putting a light on the underside of the upper cabs to light the counter work space.

Is there a place to purchase cabinets that fit the slant trailer layout, or has everyone just modified standard house cabinets. We have a 7' short wall that we are about to finish. What did you use to insulate the walls, ceiling and floor ?ThanksPDGx

Use the search and put in redoing LQ.  It will give you a lot of good ideas.  The best tread is the one that has this in it - www.todd.redwrech.com.  His pictures are wonderful.  Also, lots of people have put in good tips and pictures on different threads.

We are in the process of redoing ours right now.

An excellent source of cabinets is through the internet listed as "RTA". (ready to assemble). Most are high quality products, featuring plywood boxes instead of the heavy MDF cabinets commonly found at the home centers. This results in a lighter and stronger unit that holds up well under trailering conditions. The other benefit is that they are shipped disassembled. This makes modifying them quite easy.

Some manufacturers also feature a bathroom speciality line. These cabinets are usually more shallow in depth than the kitchen cabinets, allowing more available space in your LQ.

When I used rta rather than diy, I found some. Thanks for the suggestion!
