Can tell me what the LA or AA in a Sundowner 2001 8010 Sunlite trailer means. Somewhere today I read that LA or AA in the 6th digit means all aluminum, but I can't verify that at this time. Not sure where I read it. Can anyone verify that for me please. thank you ....

Can't find the post where this was talked about. Not sure about the letters, but almost sure that the SUNLITE model is going to be a steel frame trailer.

Still trying to research with no luck. I looked at every single Sundowner trailer listed on tis site and most found with the SUNLITE name was steel frame trailers with number showing Sunlite 727. Found a couple of all ALUIM. trailers listed Sunlite 720 or 725 and the rest just showing the number. Will find out first thing Tuesday and post for you.

Both trailers with LA or AA in the serial number will be aluminum framed trailers. The AA usually designates non living quarter models at build time, and the LA models are living quarters trailers with aluminum frames. All Sundowner SUNLITE models built from 2003 to Jan. 1 of 2008 could either be steel OR aluminum framed. You had to know Sundowners model numbering system to know the differences, or look underneith the trailers.
Since January 1st of 2008, ALL SUNDOWNER MODELS ARE ALUMINUM FRAMED !!
Sundowner has built no steel framed trailers since 1/1/08.
