We're looking to purchase a used EXISS with lq package in it, but are concerned with all the comments we've read and heard about the EXISS trailers falling apart.  We want your opinion.

I own a 2001 Exiss Event and I love it. Nothing has fallen apart and I use it alot in the summer. Door shut, windows and gates latch...I can't complain at all.

Well here is MY opinion on them.  We owned a 1998 Exiss EVENT SS400 than had no LQ and used it 2 years with ZERO ISSUES.

Bought a used 2000 Exiss EVENT SS413 in 2003 that we LOVED, (wish I stll had it).  The only issue we had with it was the manger doors leaking, nothing else at all.  We did update the mobile home looking interior and replaced it with soft touch walls and ceiling.

I have a 2001 Exiss with a LQ that I bought new. The only issue I have had with it is that the dropdown window fell off. Exiss got me two new ones (it is a two horse) and paid to have them installed. Seems there was an issue with the way the original hinges reacted to opening and closing...they got stress cracks. Other than that, I have completely loved my little trailer. I would not hesitate to purchase another one that had been well cared for if I needed to!

Oh, and I will add that I heard from a horse transporter not to buy anything bigger than a 4 horse Exiss. Apparently the bodies flex too much. I can't say that is true or not.

Yep, you hear a lot of that. Mostly from a friend whose friend's best friend has a friend who said..... Usually the authors of those statements have never owned or used an Exiss.

We have an 01 three horse "Event" with a Sierra weekender LQ. I was lucky, and after looking for three months, found it several states away. We are the third owners, and the most fortunate. The first two kept the trailer pristine, and we have had zero issues with mechanicals. It has been flawless, no leaks, good equipment, a lot of comfort and utility in a small package.

We've wanted this model Exiss for some time, and are fortunate enough to have found exactly what we wanted. Last year we installed basically a copy cat LQ interior, in my friend's used Exiss. He bought a used dressing room model, expressly intending to update it with a LQ. It worked out well, and that couple is very pleased with the finished unit.

There are leaking issues with any brand of trailer that has a LQ. As was well stated in another thread, the caulking is the issue, not the metal. $25 of polyurethane caulking and an hour's labour, will cure most problems for many years.

At one time Exiss had some window issues. We had one poster, particularly vehement in bad mouthing Exiss as a result of a bad window. After contacting Universal, they then replaced the window at no cost, on a seven year old trailer. She amended her criticism and then offered rave reviews. But everyone who read the initial posting, was led to believe Exiss was a pile of junk.

I would recommend an Exiss to anyone who is seeking a reliable, well built trailer at a reasonable price. I'm proud of mine and plan on a very long ownership.

We ourselves own a 2001.  Got it from the orginal purchaser in 06, have used it for hunting trips from Arkansas to Colorado, wyoming, show horses, riding mules, pack mules, and hauling the 4 wheeler to deer camp. Trail rides and campouts, hardly any fairgrounds! It has seen some sights....still great and still planning on keeping it.  Has a hay rack that has been used for a water tank and hay cross country with no roof or structure issues.  had a damaged seam on the extending style door step that Exiss paid to have seen to, and that is it.  We are happy....

I have owned 2 Exiss trailers a 96 maximum and a 03 event. I had no issues with either trailer. On the 03 I'm the 3rd owner and I knew the other 2 so I knew what I was getting. It had one leak and we fixed that and haven't had any other issues as far as the trailer itself. I did have to replace my fridge last year....I would buy another Exiss but I really want this one to be the last....
