Is the Honda generator that has been reccomended on here the 2000EUI?  Just found one on Craigs list and want to make sure before I go and look at it.  Thanks........

OK..... now I guess the question is Blue or Red...... .

Thoughts?

My thoughts why I chose the 2800 Yamy:

The basic consideration is whether you want portability or not. The Yamy will run the larger air conditioners, can easily be moved around by one person and sells for $700 less than either the red or blue 3000 units. It is small enough to fit into a tack compartment and doesn't need a wheel kit to transport. (put it in a wheel barrow if you have to go any distance) You don't need two of them, along with a ridiculously expensive connector cord. Yamaha has an excellent reputation for their products, of which I'm personally familiar with a few. The kicker is free transportation and no sales taxes.

Honda currently has no comparable unit.

All three units are good. Everyone has their opinion. We have friends with Honda's, Yamaha's and Kipor's. All are very comparable. If you want to spend the extra money on the Honda by all means do so. The kipor is more reasonable priced and they do stand behind the warranty. I personally have a 6000 watt Kipor and love it. It is not much louder than the 3000 and will carry what ever I want to plug into it. We have even run 2 trailers with it at once and it was fine. We have a 15000 watt AC on our larger LQ and the generator never picks up over an idle even when the unit cycles. Love it, Love it.

I don't know if it is still available, but the distributor was having a sale to it's dealers on the Kipor generators. Check with your local dealers and have them check to see if it is still running. They have a over run on generators due to the Hurricane season.
