CLINT ALLEN’S TRAILER FLIPS ON WAY HOME FROM BONANZA CUTTING

Alll seven horses from Clint Allen’s string that were being hauled home from the Bonanza cutting in Abilene survived and only one, a turnback horse, had injuries that will keep him out of action for six months to a year. One of Clint’s futurity colts also had a cut on its ankle.

According to Allen, on Tuesday, March 18, Kelly, the girl that works for him, was hauling seven horses home from a successful show at Abilene, when the trailer hit a wet spot on the highway. The trailer flipped, coming loose from the truck. When Clint arrived on the scene right after the accident happened, he couldn’t believe that was his rig. However, he said there was one other wreck at the same spot.

“The horses all flew out of the trailer and were standing beside it, still tied,” said Clint. Two of the horses had been ridden by Clint and his helper to the finals of the Bonanza. Also in the trailer had been his two best 3-year-olds and a good 4-year-old mare.

Allen, a top trainer with over $1.7 earned in lifetime earnings, works for Julie Wrigley at her ranch in Weatherford, Texas.According to Equi-Stat, during 2007, Allen was the second leading money-earning rider, riding horses of all ages, for the year, winning $623,444.

If you believe that the horses went through that accident, and after everything stopped they were all standing beside the trailer tied................... you either have a real bad cannibus habit or are so delusional about the rock star "Barrack" that it has blurred your vision. I'm glad the horses are doing well, and after 25 years of hauling horses "untied" and never having an "incident or accident" I'll keep doing what I have been doing.

I would be inclined to believe if they were tied in the trailer, there were broken halters, snaps, ties rings ect....... and the horses had been gathered and tied to what was left of the trailer.

HWbar - Help me out here . . . so someone references a trailer accident story verbatum and you accuse them of smoking pot and following Obama for repeating that the story said the horses were tied throughout the wreck?

Well, I also served this country with pride, if you believe they were standing there after that wreck, then that's good enough for you. I on the other hand ain't buying it.

If my words upset you then shame on me, but insulting my common sense buy presenting this as an arguement for me to tie my horses in my trailer was a little far fetched.

With that said accept my apology.

I'm reading and rereading Paul's post and can't figure out where he is even remotely trying to convince himself or anyone else.  All I see is an article reprinted.

You're right.  It was a "guess" and it did contain the word "argument".  And if you were checking the boards looking for threads you could argue with . . . I "guess" this would fill that requirment for you.

Or you could read it like dry sarcasm which is what I did and just read the thread for it's face value and move on.
