How does the cowboy shower work? I have seen exterior RV showers but what does it hook up to? Do you conect it to your sink(Facet) or does it go directy to the water heater?? Also is there better ones to buy than others? I ahve also been seeing these tankless electric water heaters. Is that an option to put in. They say an endless supply of hot water but only hooks to one sink. That would be great unless my cowboy shower wouldn't work.

You can buy a hot water heater at a place like Cabelas. We bought one, that is a two burner, it just uses the small canister propane tanks. We would then put the water pump into a cooler filled with water and the water would heat continously. The water heater was a little expensive, but very nice. I would recomend the two burner over the one burner.

I hope that this helps

Does anyone know anything about this water heater?

http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index.cfm?skunum=37786&src=...

If I'm understanding it correctly, you can hook directly into a faucet at the campgrounds via a hose and use as much water as you need for a shower (or at least as much water as a 10lb or 20lb propane tank will heat which should be plenty).

Any thoughts on this product will be appreciated.

So,you hook it up to the campsite faucet, then to a propane cylinder tank and continous hot water? I guess with a long enough propane hose, you could hang it like it states, from an RV ladder or sit it on something outside the trailer? Or would you have it inside the trailer in the cowboy shower area? I've never seen one but looks pretty neat.

That's is your campground has easy access to water.  We camp in a lot of primitive places and have to bring water containers for the horses.

I have a cowboy shower that is installed in the first stall of the horse area.  I turn the switch to the hot water heater on and in 10 minutes I have plenty of hot water.  yes I do have to be conservative with the water if there isn't any at my campsite, but I can get clean pretty quick.

If I bought it, I would want it inside my trailer like a cowboy shower. When I get closer to needing a cowboy shower, I will check into this product. The only drawback I can see (as someone else said) is if your campsite doesn't have a water hookup, then you may be SOL. But I really, really, really, like a warm shower when I've been riding all day so it would be wonderful to not have to worry about running out of hot water real quickly.

Is there any difference in the brand or type Rv shower to get for a cowboy shower. I have been seeing lots of brands but wondered if they are all the same.

can you tell me more info on the water heater from Cabela's??  We are looking at the Coleman hot water on demand propane heater that runs off of small propane canister and 6-volt battery.  does anyone have any pros/cons with this system??

I love my Coleman Hot Water on Demand. No problems yet...fingers crossed! It looks like the Camping World one Rose66 linked to is similar, but more compact. Maybe they improved the Coleman one. Lighter and smaller would be nice.  The Coleman is bulky.

For those of you with the cowboy shower in your first horse stall, when you shower, what happens to the gray water?  Do you just let it run out of your trailer and hope nobody says anything or do you collect it somehow and dump it when you get home?????  I wouldn't have any problem letting it run out of the trailer but how do you "corral" it so it doesn't go everywhere???  Just wondering.

The cowboy shower will tee into the existing hot and cold water lines.  I imagine that any RV outside shower unit would work for the cowboy shower in the back of the trailer.

eatwheat- Our shower was already installed when we bought the trailer used. It has a stainless steel pan on the floor with a drain pipe going through the floor. The first time we used it, the ground sloped right at our LQ door and we had to fight mud all weekend. Now I have a 50 foot hose that slips over the drain pipe and I run it out as far as I can away from everybody. I have also seen a network of PVC piping used, but the hose is much more compact and can be used for other purposes.

Try this website. This is what we are going to do with our cowboy shower. This site was very helpful. Lots of great ideas.
