Welcome to the forum,
Some people glue, others, like me, do not. I just cut my insulation, I used thte 1/2" foam insulation, to fit in between the framing of the trailer and sealed it off with 2" aluminum tape. If you used glue and the foam insulation, make sure you use glue that won't eat the insulation. I would not recommend screws for insulation as you really have nothing to attach a screw to except the skin of your trailer.

If you really want it Insulated, fill the vertical spaces then put wood strips horizonally and insulate between them, cut it tight enough and cover it with something and you won't need to glue or screw it.

What type of glue is best to hold the insulation against the wall? I really want to avoid putting holes in my trailer--at least until I hire someone to finish the LQ for me.
Does the insulation go directly against the wall of the trailer, or is there something that should be put between the inside of the exterior wall and the insulation?

horse_lover_2010 As others have said, if you cut the foam type insulation to fit tight enough you probably won't have to glue it at all! If you do it would likely be in the ceiling. As someone else has said, watch out for glue that will eat the styrofoam and more importantly don't use glue that will react with the aluminum. I've heard that some glues will cause corosion when applied to aluminum. I used the cartridge type glue like you get at lowes and read the package information well to make sure of compatibilty with the foam and aluminum. I only used the glue in a few parts of the ceiling and it worked out very well!

Sorry but I can't be of much help there. It has been nearly two years now since I insulated my trailer and I can't recall what brand/type of glue that I used. Wish I could help out on that one cause as I recall there are numurous types available and it can be time consuming to read the various usage labels. Good luck, Ardly
