Ok im not sure I can explain what Im asking but here goes.. On the outside of your trailer is where we want to place a plug so I can plug to my generator.. WEll we are going to need a male plug and im not sure where to buy one.. What does everyone eles use or suggest...
This Outdoor receptacle 110V is a MALE 15 amp plug and has a weatherproof plate and cover. This outdoor receptacle for 110 volt is to be used with a three-prong, 15 amp female end of an extension cord.

I think it's called a 'motor base', you can buy them at most RV supply stores. I bought one for my trailer, works great, but there is a small problem they are only 15 amps. This puts most roof AC units at their limits. I really wanted a 20 amp plug but couldn't find one. The few electrical supply places didn't know what I was talking about. These are known by those in the trade as "inlets"
The power limits are set by the NEC standards. The familar 120 volt plug is limited to 15 amps at 120 volts. To get more amps or volts the conductor configuration changes.
The NEC standard calls for either 30 or 50 amps for RV's

Yes ... This type inlet will work for your A/C unit. But only run the A/C. If you try to run anything beyond a small radio, you'll draw too much power. Either tripping the breaker, overheating your cord and connections, or worst damaging your A/C unit.
