I own A 04 Exiss xt 312 event, this is my 4th gooseneck trailer ,over the course of 20 yrs and I belive the best made of the 4.Now bear in mind Exiss and most brands, build premium and lower grade cheaper models So with that in mind it depends on the model good luck!

I have an 05 Exiss Event. I think there is a huge difference between the Event and the Sport with the Event being much better. I've had nothing but good luck with it but I take care of it. I put it in a building during the week when I'm not hauling, keep it washed and clean. My BFF had a Sport about the same year as mine and she had nothing but trouble with it. I think if you stay away from Sports you'll be ok.

Mine was a sport and was great. medium usage. 40 events a year. You will get lots of good and bad opinions.Every trailer brand has had troubles.  Do what your needs and pocket book allows. Inspect all around and crawl underneath. I bought another after the first, so yes, I am happy with them.

I have a 2001 Exiss XT 200 B&B, 2 horse LQ. Great little trailer for the price. I would buy another Exiss, but not a Sport.

We have a "Sport" stock trailer due to bargin price on a repo auction. Replaced door and cut gate hinges, put in track for plexiglass, replaced tires, installed spot lights outside, put in mats, and carpet in nose when I bought it. Still have less than $9k in new 20' aluminum.

Would not hold up to day in/day out cow hauling, but it has worked for us really well for 4 years. Half the price of most trailers this size.

Thought about trading last spring and dealer would give 10k, so might still be ahead of the game...a little anyway...

We have an 01, bought it used in 06. It has sat outside since then. We take it showing, and to elk camp in Colorado multiple times, and Wyoming to cattle workings... and deer camp in Arkansas, and trail competitions etc... hauled horses, mules, riding mules, pack mules, and 4 wheelers... have been completely pleased...

Entry level trailer. If you are a weekend warrior, you should be fine. If you can find an older 4-Star for the same money, I would go that route instead though....if you are in an unavoidable wreck with your horses, you'll be glad you have the 4-Star...

if have never seen a horse trailer wreck, rolled or hit from behind it will open your eyes on a cheaper trailer vs. a quality one. Usually the cheaper ones come a part and the better ones stay intact.

Yes, I'm a Platinum dealer....I base this on over 10 years experience in selling Platinum trailers as well as used trailers in other brands, plus we have one of the biggest repair shops in central Oklahoma, so I see the good and bad of every brand. It's all about the quality and thickness of aluminum, the welds, the placement and number of welds on the side posts, the spacing and size of braces under the floor, floor material, etc.....entry level trailers use C channel instead of solid round posts, and they weld the corners to the floor instead of recessed down into the frame, and that alone is asking for the trailer to crumble in a wreck (T-boning, rear end hit, roll over etc.)....I could name the brands we've seen over the years that are the worst for repairs and structure, but I avoid that drama by just pointing people who seem to be on a budget towards the older 4-Stars that are so well built...

I had a 2008 414 with the Sierra conversion package and it was absolutely wonderful nothing ever went wrong with it. I have a brand new elite now and it is a piece of junk.

If you buy a new Exiss trailer, take care and keep it in a building when not in use... Depending on your budget, you can get a lot better trailer for your $$$. I'm not saying they are bad, just so many are better built and have a little more to them. I would want all Aluminum.Look at the welds and the frame underneath, you will figure it out. Good Luck in your search.

Ok, I have some experience with a 2001 Exiss 4 horse event trailer. We bought it new. A very BIG problem turned out to be the slant divider closing devices. I found that as I traveled to an event a gelding ended up on the opposite side of a mare. We couldn't figure this out until we realized that when the horses pushed against the but wall the latches released, and he slid behind the mare. When I complained to the Exiss dealer , they acknowledged a problem and added an extension to the slam latches. After this, I noticed the windows were bulging, and coming apart! The inside of the windows are compressed wood, and since this trailer lived outdoors, the weather had caused the material to swell. That was it: I sold it for 50% of my original cost with happiness to get out of it. I also found a buyer who wanted it for storage...... my next trailer was a Sundowner 14 LQ top of the line Ranch House with all the bells and whistles, but sold it for a 4 star LQ, which I believe is the best option out there. Hart and Jamco are tops also . Notice the trailer which sell on this website!
