I am looking to buy an older 2 horse bumper pull to take occasional local trips. I am on a pretty tight budget, $2500 or less. I have seen some Logans, from the late 80's and 90's and circle j trailers in my price range on Craigslist. Are these decent trailer? Any suggestions? I'm in California. Thanks!!!

They are both built in a similar fashion. Steel on steel trailers.

Circle J is out of business, but built a good solid trailer.  Logan was bought out by titan a couple of years ago.  They built steel trailers back in the 80's and 90's and now most of their trailers are aluminum skin over steel frame.

Check both trailers out for rust. If they spent their life in Southern Cal, they probably were spared any winter tows on salted roads that would encourage rust.

If they don't show any rust. Both makes were good solid  bumper pull trailers

Circle J's often had fiberglass roofs, which I personally loved on mine, and never had issues. Also felt it was a tad cooler. I still have my first trailer, although not used anymore. A 1974 Circle J.

I had a older (1984?) Circle J with a LARGE dressing room in front.

I had to replace a piece of flooring in the dressing room because of a leak around the roof vent, but I was able to do it myself after caulking the vent.

I loved it. It would be easy to see if there is any rust on it, but these were some of the first trailers to use galvanized (galvaneal) panels. If it never left So Cal, it should be in great shape.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the fiberglass roof. If it has some thin spots or leaks, easy to patch.  Also - built very strong and tow easily. Lighterweight with the fiberglass roof.

Thanks! I have contacted several parties with these older trailers for sale. It seems like horse trailers were a bit smaller back in the 80's... Someone who had their 88 circle J advertised as TB size said the height is 6'9"!!! I need at least 7 feet for my 16.2 horse.
