I was out browsing trail riding sites today and decided to see what was happening at Ponderosa. It looks like the horsecamp is still open. I tried calling, but got answering machine.

Can you ride from the horsecamp through what used to be bank owned property (original Ponderosa Trails) to Huckleberry Forest, or do you still have to trailer to the Huckleberry trail head?

Tammyponygirl; try Huckleberry Stables (Rick & Mary), or his boy's place down on the river... I don't think Ponderosa is really open anymore... they were having some campers/RV stuff, but no horses because you have to ride up the road behind to get to the trails now (or something like that).... If you find out differently, please let the rest of us know. We've put in a lot of miles over there years ago, now, our rig is too big so we primitive camp up off KK at #1440 pull in.

Ponderosa is OPEN, I have been there the past two weekends.  The bank is not saying anything about riding thru.  Ponderosa hosted an ACTHA ride  on the 10th.  Sorry, Ponytammy, I just saw this post today.

We went to Ponderosa last weekend. Had a fabulous time and met some nice folks too. Although, we didn't know that it was Bikes, Blues and BBQ in Fayetteveille. Bikers were everywhere!! And you could hear them zooming down the highway all weekend long. Some even stayed in the camp in their RVs.

Camp was clean and stalls were in good repair too. Couldn't believe one of the bluffs had crashed to the ground. We used to ride on top of the bluff!

PonyTammy, Glad you got to Ponderosa.  I know the bluff you mean, isn't that something?  Yes, lots of cycles for BBB.  I was headed south to Idle Nook last Friday and there were TONS of them on 540!!!
