I agree with rope14u, haggling is half the fun.  In my family we call it bragging rights when you manage to haggle yourself a great deal.

I recently bought a car and my car saleman's manager finally had to laugh and ask him where my saleman found me from.  I told him I was the internet babe he found since I found the car on the internet.

I've found looking someone directly in the eye when making offers helps for me and not making outrageous offers but keeping them within reason.

Bottom line is they are a business and they need to make money.
