I recently rolled over 15 mpg on my 2008 f250 diesel. I am looking to trade it in for either a 350 or 450. The truck has to last me 10 years, so if anyone has either truck, waht is your current mpg towing. I have a second car that I will be driving, but driving my truck to my job eeryday has gotten me superb mpg. Thanks!!

I have the 2008 first generation F450 and the mileage IS NOT GOOD! My Trailer is 31 on the floor, usually hauling 2 horses but its a 3 horse, and I get between 5.5 mpg to 8. I love the truck otherwise but the mileage is REALLY bad. I basically paid $1 a mile to OKC and back to Denver! I pick and choose where I go now. I may buy a 2000 F250 For my smaller trailer to help with the cost of fuel... My 450 is paid for and I really cant trade it in with out loosing alot of money. If you can Afford the cost of Fuel, ID bet you can get a great deal right now on these trucks. I have the 430 rear end on my truck.

I have a 2008 F450 4x4 w/4.88 rear end and the biggest tow rating available. It is a Job #2  with a date of June/07 on the plate inside the door. I have yet to trust it enough with my LQ trailer as it has not completed a single non LQ trailer pulling trip suscessfully without an issue! They have reprogramed and reprogramed it. I am back to averaging 10 mpg empty, no load or trailer. But, I did not buy it to tuttle to the grocery store, I have a cute little car that averages 34mpg for that. The last trailer towing trip to OKC (400 miles) towing an empty 18' stock trailer and back with a empty 4H 21' trailer  netted me almost 5 mpg!!!!!! My Freightliner does almost double that  with a fully loaded LQ trailer!!!!!!! So needless to say the Ford is parked most all of the time. They say they can't fix what they can't find although they admit that my Ford has a problem. I am just too busy right now to drop everything just to do nothing but drive them around in it waiting for it to screw up.

Talked to a fellow in April had a 2008 Ford with the 4.88 rear end. Was pulling a 3 horse LQ not sure how heavy but he said he was only getting 7 MPG.

I have an 07 GMC Dmax Dually Will get 10.2 - 10.5 if I keep it @60-62 mph pulling 13,500- 14,000 lbs. Rear end is the std. 3.73

I have an 08 F350 CC dually 2wd with the 4.10 rear end (job#2).  Birthday is 9/07.  My trailer is a 3h, 8.5 wide, 10' LQ.  Empty weight is around 9700 lbs.  I currently have 8,000 miles on the truck.

Fuel mileage:  16-18 without trailer going 60 mph.

11 with loaded trailer (2 horses) going 65 mph.

So, I'm not complaining about mileage.  This truck was made to do serious pulling.  Not is sip fuel.  However, if I had my choice, I would rather have the 3.73 rear end.  Mileage is really good with the 3.73s.

I have an '08 450 I will sell you cheap!  I am getting rid of my big trailer and i dont need it anymore.  It is an '08 loaded 4x4.  It has everything but a drop down dvd becuase it has a sun roof.  It has a special exhaust and air intake system in it to help it get better milage. (worth about 2k).  Let me know if you are interested.

I have a 2008 F350 SC Dually with 4:10 rearend. I'm averaging around 13.5mpg just regular driving and 11.5-12mpg when pulling our 4 horse gooseneck. Just got back from a trip down to Murphfreesboro, Tenn and averaged 11.4mpg. 400 miles each way.( Pulling the horse trailer) This is my everyday driver and while the price of diesel is crazy, I traded in a Dodge Dually with a V10 that only got 10mpg everyday and 8 while hauling. I've had no problems or down time. Hauls beautifully and effortlessly. Hauled 7000 lbs of hay just yesterday, got almost 12.5mpg on a 180 mile trip.
