Hey all,
I've been reading the threads on the Exiss, and seen the pro's and con's. I found a used ( very lightly used ) 2000 for 13k it's a gn 3 horse XT 300 as the sub line says. Does anyone have any experience with this particular model? Or whether that's a good price?

I've also been looking at Thuro Bilt because there seem to be a lot of them around here. Was warned off of Morgans and didn't like the look of them anyway. Basically anything will be better than what we have now (61 miley 2H straight. Ventilation on this trailer is superior! LOL. DD's new horse does not fit comfortably width wise ).
Any suggestions? We can go with either gn or bp. 3H would be nice, but not absolutely necessary.

I have the same 2000 XT 300 Event with a weekender package. It took several months to find the one we bought, and every usage brings more pleasure. We specifically wanted that model and brand trailer. It is very well built, the axles, brakes and tires are rated higher than the gvw, so you can't overload it. The frame is very sturdy, far stronger than many other better regarded brands. We've had no mechanical issues and no leaks of any kind. The price is realistic; a full weekender package adds about $5k - $7k to the price.

Hope you enjoy your Exiss as much as we do ours.

Erm,
What does "Full Weekender Package" mean? Does that mean there are LQ's? This one is empty in the tack/dr area. In fact according to the owner the tack area has never been used. They only used it to haul one horse, in the front stall once. It looks brand new. Only drawback is that I have to drive 7 hours to get it, and with the price of diesel...that adds to the cost of the trailer. We just bought an F-350 V6 diesel, 2005 long bed. Dh just finished installing a 5th wheel hitch so we can pull the hay trailer with it. We'd need to get some sort of converter for the hitch to haul a gn. It already has a nice BP hitch that's adjustable.

A weekender pkg.has a LQ in the area of the tack/dressing room.Yours sounds as if it has just the "shell" presently. There may be an A/C in the dressing room and some will have a rear tack.

Talapas... Welcome to the forum...

As in any widely used product. there are a few disgruntled customers.  A well known fact in many endeavors... Ya can't please everyone.

I would buy an Exiss trailer.  They're good trailers for their price point.  Only you can decide if that choice is right for you.

Right, it has just a shell, carpet on the floor. There is a rear tack room too. I like it, I just don't know if it's worth the 13K plus the 7 hour drive to go get it. Any opinions on this? I would like to know what a fair offer is but I've googled and can't find any of this age range for sale. Most are newer, so some of the options might be different, although what that would be I can't tell. Anyone with an older one know what the diffs are? Gard?
Thanks!

If you look at the newer Exiss trailers, you will see the models called "Sport". These are the equivalent of various other manufacturers that have "lite" models. They are a lighter build, lighter capacity axles and tires etc etc. I would not equate them to the "Event" models.

A full "weekender" LQ has a complete bathroom with a flush toilet, power vent and shower, three tanks, fresh water, gray and black, refig that works on and gas and elec, microwave, sink and pressurized water system with hot water heater, a/c solar charger, egress vent above the bunk, queen bed, many cabinets and a lighting package. It is equipped with a walk thru stall door, has a camper door and separate screen door, and a full awning. It packs a lot of equipment and comfort in a 4' short wall.

Before driving 14 hours, ask for pictures of the bare floor (under the mats), tires and anything else that might be worn aor damaged.  Agree before traveling, on a form of payment.  Cash in hand exchanged for a title in hand is the ultimate in transaction safety.  Anything less is up to you and the seller.

Hi there!

I think the Exiss Event is a nice trailer. I had the "Sport" Model and would much prefer the Event. If this is an "Sport" model, that price is too high.

I think you would like the gn much more that a BP. The towing is incomparable in my opinion. Plus, you would have a place for a mattress!! Can u get the seller to meet u half way on the driving part? Good Luck and let us know what u decided.
